Request for Proposal - For the purchase of Lot 2 at Knutsford

We are seeking an aspirational developer to demonstrate leadership in design, innovation and sustainability in the heart of Fremantle.

Lot 2 is sized 1,893sqm and zoned R60/100 under the Knutsford Street East LSP. The site has two street frontages enjoying views over Fremantle Golf Course.

Revitalising Knutsford - the transformation has begun 

Knutsford is a redevelopment precinct within Fremantle. Situated approximately 1.5km from the heart of the port city, it is a 23 hectare former industrial area bounded by Stevens Reserve (Swanbourne Street) and Booyeembara Park (Montreal Street). Over the next 10 years through innovative master planning and design it will be transformed into a vibrant, sustainable community with potential for approximately 1,000 new dwellings and more than 2,000 new residents.

The precinct will include both residential and mixed used dwellings, offering a range of housing types and styles, new public open spaces and amenities linking it to the existing Fremantle community.

LandCorp is currently progressing development of approximately 11.5 hectares of the 23 hectare redevelopment precinct, which includes portion of the Knutsford Street East precinct, and the entire Swanbourne Street precinct.

LandCorp will be in the unique position to offer clean, development ready, fully serviced sites for sale.

Knutsford Street East Precinct   

Known as East Village at Knutsford, this 1.5 hectare land parcel bounded by Montreal Street, Blinco Street, Knutsford Street and Wood Street will be Fremantle’s most sustainable new development. Featuring the latest blockchain technology this precinct will deliver energy and water savings, renewable energy revenues and a range of homes with adaptable spaces for home offices.

Other features will include electric vehicle fast charging, solar panels and battery storage, provision for an electric vehicle car share scheme, waterwise homes and private and public gardens. East Village at Knutsford will deliver Australia’s first blockchain ready homes, with new residents participating in leading trials of this new technology providing the opportunity for residents to access 100% renewable energy.

LandCorp commenced development of this precinct in 2018 with civil works completed in August 2019.

Swanbourne Street Precinct

Comprising over 8.3 hectares of development ready vacant land, the Swanbourne Street Precinct is bounded by Swanbourne Street, Knutsford Street, Amherst Street and Stevens Reserve. The precinct will be transformed into a high quality residential development that will feature a diverse range of building types to address the changing needs of a growing population and include substantial new public open space along Swanbourne Street that responds to the City of Fremantle's Green Plan.

The Swanbourne Street Precinct will be released for sale by Expression of Interest in late 2020 to attract a master developer.
